Jeep Emblems

Jeep vehicles are iconic American cars. Not only are Jeeps easily identifiable by their body shapes, but they are also marked with their iconic emblems stating the make, model, and other identifying information. There are many emblem options for your Jeep vehicle.

What are Jeep emblems?

An emblem is an identifying marker on a car. It usually includes the cars make, model, and any special designations such as sport, limited, Laredo, or 4x4. Jeep emblems designate the type of car and any of its special features. Some drivers choose to add these to their Jeep vehicles for aesthetic purposes.

Where are Jeep emblems located?

Depending on the make and model, you can find decals in various locations around your vehicle.

  • Rear: The Jeep logo is usually located on the rear, right above the license plate area. This is usually a chrome emblem with the brand name. There may also be other emblems along the bottom left or right of the rear door, such as 4x4, Sahara, or other designations. There may also be various decals on the fender.
  • Side: You will find the model of your Jeep, such as Cherokee, Wrangler, or Grand Cherokee, on an emblem on the driver and passenger sides. These are usually chrome. There may also be other special designations, such as the type of engine.
  • Front: The front of your Jeep usually has the logo on the grille. This is usually chrome, but may also be in a matte black or another metal, depending on your specific model.
  • Interior: There are also emblems located on the inside of your vehicle, usually on the glove box and steering wheel.
How do you replace the emblems on your Jeep?

Over time, through normal wear and tear, the emblems on your Jeep may need to be replaced. Also, in the event of an accident, your emblems may be lost or misplaced. You may also want to include additional emblems and decals that did not come with your car to make it more to your liking or highlight any of its special features.

  • Begin by cleaning the area around the old emblem to make sure it’s free of dirt and debris.
  • Use blue painter’s tape to mark where the old emblem is so that you know where the new one will go.
  • Remove the old emblem carefully, with either a special removal kit or a piece of fishing line or dental floss, then clean the area again.
  • Remove the adhesive backing from your new emblem and carefully place it on your vehicle.
