Tapas Centrales de Rueda para GMC Envoy

GMC Envoy Wheel Center Caps

The GMC Envoy is an SUV that combines style and function. If you’ve taken it off-road or just bounced off a curb in the city, you may have lost one of the wheel center caps. There are factory replacements to give your ride back its finished look.

Why should you replace GMC Envoy center caps?

The wheel center caps have an important job, especially if you drive over sloppy terrain. They help keep water, dirt, and debris from being thrown onto the hub nut and wheel bearings. Some options are also large enough to cover the lug nuts. This reduces corrosion of these wheel components and may prolong their useful life.

The center caps also make your SUV look more polished. They fill in the middle of the wheels and make the rims look smooth and complete.

How do you know which center cap fits your Envoy?

GMC has used several styles of center caps on the Envoy over the production life of the vehicle. Both the model year and the trim package of your GMC Envoy determine which center cap is the right one.

Knowing the part number of the wheel center cap that needs to be replaced is the easiest way to find a match. The part number is on the back of the caps. As long as you still have at least one on your Envoy, you can remove it and get the part number.

What GMC Envoy center cap styles are there?

Depending on your Envoy’s model year, it may have come with 15-inch, 17-inch, or 18-inch wheels. Each wheel may have from three to nine spokes. Although there are a couple of standard center caps, most of them are designed to work with a specific wheel. One thing they have in common is the GMC logo in red in the center of the cap. One of the differences between them is their size.

  • Small: Small, three-inch caps are used for some GMC Envoys made from 2004 through 2009. These are slightly domed with a machined finish.
  • Medium: The most common center cap size for the GMC Envoy is from 6 to 6.75 inches in diameter. This size range is found from 2002 through 2009. They may be hexagonal or round with a raised hexagon in the middle. Some have shaped edges to blend seamlessly into the contours of the wheel. They typically have a silver or polished finish and cover the lug nuts.
  • Large: A few Envoys from 2002 through 2009 have 7.5-inch center caps. These large caps have a bright, polished finish with a raised hexagon in the middle. They cover the lug nuts.
How do you replace center caps on a GMC Envoy?

If you need to take the old center caps out, you’ll probably have to remove the wheels. You can try to carefully pry them out from the front first, but they’ll likely have to be pushed out from the back.

When you’re ready to install the new caps, just push them in from the front until the retaining clips are seated in place.
